The dates for 2009 are August 8 and 9, so mark your calendars now!
Bike Tioga is a Rotary Club and Tourism Office service provided to the community to enhance our quality of life, promote healthy living, and encourage visitors to experience Tioga County.
This event provides experienced and non-experienced bicycle riders with the choice of rides ranging from 26 to 100 miles on Saturday, and 24 to 53 miles on Sunday.
Since this is not a race, riders will have the opportunity to stop along the ride for rest and refreshments. Rides include flat to hilly terrain dependent on the ride selected. Stops along the way may include visits to select tourism attractions. On Saturday, riders may visit the Newark Valley Days, visit a train depot, or stop for a tour of an alpaca farm. On Sunday, search for late blueberries or stop at another alpaca farm. In any case, all riders are asked to return to the starting point by 4:00 pm. There will be no leaders and no sags. Make sure you take your cell phone with you to call the base if you need help. Also, it is important that you pay attention to the maps and road markings for directions.
Food will be available after the rides, as will a participant favorite: 10 minute sport massages.
Please call the Tioga County Tourism Office at 607-687-7440 / 1-800-671-7772 or email for more information.
